ARTECHOUSE DC | Lucid Motion

I’m still in awe with this place.

Japanese artist group Rhizomatiks and founder Daito Manabe, present this amazing immersive installation where art and technology come together to offer a one-of-a-kind experience.

Lucid Motion explores the human body in motion and the connection with the digital world. As you go down the stairs, you’d be taken to the darkest room in the lower level of the building. Once inside, you’ll found yourself surrounded by screens playing a virtual character’s dance performance. Lights and motion will submerge you into a unique, digital experience.

In the next galleries, visitors are encourage to interact with multiple animated screens. In the last room, they provide you with a tablet for you to hold while you walk the gallery. The point is for you to focus your tablet on certain spots of the room so you can see different animated things and characters. I was super impressed with this room, I didn’t want to leave!

This particular exhibit is on until December 1, but to be honest, I’d come back any time to see a virtual installation here.
