Chihuly Garden and Glass

Dale Chihuly, the internationally renowned glass artist, presents his latest exhibition at the Seattle Center. His work is included in more than 200 museum collections worldwide and has been the recipient of many awards. I’ve seen his work at many museums in the U.S., but never an entire collection. Room after room, I was amazed by how beautiful and colorful his installations are.

The Chihuly Garden and Glass includes the Exhibition Hall, the centerpiece Glasshouse and a lush Garden. The Exhibition Hall contains eight galleries and three Drawing Walls, offering visitors a comprehensive look at Chihuly’s significant series of work; the Glasshouse presents a suspended 1,400-piece, 100-foot-long sculpture, and the Garden is a backdrop for four monumental sculptures and other installations. Chihuly’s art remains at the cutting edge of the technical possibilities of glass as a medium.

He has quite a bit of work at the Missouri Botanical Gardens in St. Louis, including a two story instillation in the main entrance. An amazing artist.
